In this work, poverty is represented by the symbolic image of rubbish collection - an extreme gesture of survival that illustrates the inequality still present in so many parts of the world. In contrast, there is the metaphor of decent housing as a possible and desired horizon, and the tree, a recurring symbol in the artist's career, here takes on the role of a social lift, signalling growth, stability and hope.

The viewer is invited to a critical reading that goes beyond aesthetic contemplation. The work calls for reflection on social contrasts and on everyone's role in building a fairer society, where all stages can indeed be overcome.
