Dino is the stage name of João Coutinho, born in Beira, Mozambique, in 1956 and resident in Lisbon since 1976. A civil engineer with additional training in management, leadership and communication, he has built a multifaceted career: he was a teacher for 12 years and held leadership positions for three decades in multinational companies. He has also worked as a manager and mentor, notably in his role on the Management Committee of Netmentora Lisboa. With Goan origins, he was part of the management of the Goa House, where he organised more than 100 activities and a trip that gave rise to the co-authored book ‘Goa, roteiro de uma viagem’ (Goa, itinerary of a journey).

Dino's connection to the arts has been with him since his youth, with greater dedication between the ages of 14 and 19, influenced by master José Pádua. For many years, his passion for the arts had to be reconciled with professional priorities. He returned to drawing and painting in 2019, investing heavily in his artistic training at schools such as Nextart and SNBA. His work is marked by a diversity of techniques and themes, reflecting experiences, memories and emotions. He often paints on the back of the canvas and marks his work with the number 4, his personal symbol.

Despite his long artistic journey, he only recently began to present his work publicly, with a solo exhibition in 2023 and participation in group exhibitions. For Dino, art is growth, sharing, and communication—a vocation that has never left him. He believes that artistic identity is built with dedication, study, and constant practice, on a path that is becoming increasingly defined.
