Ao molho I e II
For this essay, Dino proposes a visual metaphor for the sensorial complexity of everyday life. “Ao Molho” is a painting that celebrates the coexistence of multiple things – flavours, textures, colours – thrown together, as if combining ingredients without a recipe, using only instinct and confidence. The artist’s gesture is free, almost culinary: spatulas drag dense pigments, overlaps accentuate contrasts, and the composition seems to be in permanent fermentation.
The colour – vibrant, almost raw – dominates the visual field and refuses hierarchies. Nothing imposes itself, nothing submits. Everything coexists, mixed, without losing its identity. The eye navigates through this abstract landscape as if through a dish served without warning: surprised, confused, but attracted by the tactile and visual familiarity of what is felt, even without knowing how to name it.
“Essay” here does not mean uncertainty, but openness – an attitude of curiosity towards the banal, where the artistic gesture does not seek to elevate, but to delve into the ordinary and reveal it as living matter.
